Welcome summer with a few tips to make your next BBQ-ing experience an amazing one! Marinating your meat/veggies is one way to give your meal an extra kick. We’ve also included our favourite vegetables to try on the grill this summer!
Marinating Tips:
Marinating times:
Poultry – Chicken, turkey | Marinate for at least 2 hours up to 48 hours |
Beef | Up to 24 hours |
Fish | 30 minutes – 1 hour |
Vegetables | 30 minutes – several hours |
Meatless Grill Ideas:
-Zucchini
-Eggplant
-Corn
-Mushrooms
-Peppers
-Pineapple
-Asparagus
-Fruit salad skewers
-Brussel sprouts
-Artichokes
-Cauliflower
*A great way to incorporate the above ingredients is to make mix-and-match skewers where your friends and family can pick which veggies they would like on a skewer and then grill those!
BBQ marinades:
A good rule to follow is acid + oil/fat + herbs/seasonings
Example: vinegar + organic olive oil + garlic and basil
Garlic & Rosemary
-1/4 cup water
-1/4 cup water
-1/4 cup vinegar
-1/4 cup organic olive oil
-2 cloves garlic, minced
-3/4 tsp dried thyme
-1 tsp dried rosemary
-1/2 tsp oregano
-1/2 tsp sea salt
-1 tsp ground black pepper
Lemon Dill
-1 lemon, juiced
-2 tbsp olive oil
-2 tbsp freshly chopped dill or 1 tbsp dried dill
-1 clove garlic, minced
-1/2 tsp honey
Cayenne & Cumin
-1/2 cup organic olive oil
-1 teaspoon sea salt
-1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
-1/2 teaspoon cumin
-1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
-1/2 teaspoon paprika
-2 cloves of garlic – minced
-3 tablespoons chopped onion
-1/2 cup fresh parsley
